Trust is Earned Through Transparency

At Oakbury Watches, we understand that buying or selling a luxury watch is more than simply completing a transaction. It is built on trust, confidence and peace of mind.

Whether you are purchasing a watch from us, selling a watch to us, part exchanging, consigning, or using our sourcing service, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of security, transparency and professionalism.

To help protect our customers and our business, every transaction undertaken by Oakbury follows our Assurance Process.

Every customer is verified.
Every watch is checked by one of our qualified watch makers.
Every transaction is reviewed by senior management.

These standards help create a safer and more secure environment for everyone involved.

Our 6-Step Assurance Process

1. Customer Verification

We carry out Know Your Customer (KYC) checks on every customer without exception.

Whether you are buying, selling, consigning, part exchanging or sourcing a watch through Oakbury, we will request documentation to verify your identity before a transaction is completed.

Depending on the nature of the transaction, this may include:

  • Photographic identification
  • Proof of address
  • Ownership documentation
  • Purchase receipts
  • Warranty cards
  • Service records
  • Additional supporting documentation where required

These checks help protect against fraud, identity theft and financial crime while ensuring a secure experience for all parties involved.

2. Ownership Verification

Every watch presented to Oakbury for purchase, consignment or part exchange is subject to ownership verification.

We require documentation from all sellers to help establish ownership and provenance.

By proceeding with a transaction, sellers confirm that:

  • They are the lawful owner of the watch
  • The watch has been legally acquired
  • The watch is not stolen
  • The watch is not subject to finance or third-party claims
  • All information provided is accurate and complete

Our ownership verification procedures are designed to protect both buyers and sellers and help maintain confidence within the luxury watch market.

3. Authentication & Inspection

Every watch handled by Oakbury undergoes a thorough inspection and authentication process.

This may include:

  • Serial number verification
  • Authentication checks
  • Documentation review
  • Provenance assessment
  • Condition inspection
  • Service history review where available

These procedures help ensure that watches offered through Oakbury meet the standards our customers expect.

4. Secure Payment Verification

Security extends beyond the watch itself.

To help protect customers from fraud and unauthorised transactions, Oakbury may verify the source and origin of funds used in a transaction.

We reserve the right to request additional documentation or information where necessary and may decline payments that cannot be satisfactorily verified.

No watch will be released, and no purchase payment will be made, until all required verification procedures have been completed.

5. Secure Delivery & Collection

We understand the importance of security when handling valuable timepieces.

Where watches are shipped, Oakbury uses secure, tracked and insured delivery services.

For collection transactions, we may request additional verification to ensure the watch is released only to the verified customer.

6. Ongoing Customer Support

Our commitment to our customers does not end when a transaction is completed.

Our team remains available to assist before, during and after every transaction, providing guidance, support and transparency throughout the process.

We believe exceptional customer service is just as important as the watches themselves.

Deposits & Reservations

From time to time, Oakbury may request a deposit to reserve a watch, secure a sourced timepiece or facilitate a specific customer request.

Deposits are assessed on a case-by-case basis and may vary depending on:

  • The value of the watch
  • Whether the watch is held in stock or being sourced specifically for a customer
  • Market demand and availability
  • Supplier commitments
  • The nature of the transaction

Where a deposit is required, Oakbury will always explain in advance:

  • The amount of the deposit
  • Whether the deposit is refundable
  • Any applicable reservation period
  • Any conditions relating to cancellation or refund

Our aim is to ensure complete transparency before any commitment is made.

Where Oakbury is sourcing a watch specifically for a customer or has entered into a commitment with a supplier on a customer's behalf, a deposit may become non-refundable once those commitments have been made. Any such arrangements will be clearly communicated and agreed before a deposit is accepted.

Should Oakbury be unable to fulfil an agreed sourcing request, or where a watch supplied differs materially from the agreed specification, any applicable refund entitlement will be discussed and processed in accordance with the agreed terms of the transaction.

We believe clear communication and transparency regarding deposits and reservations are essential to maintaining trust and confidence throughout the buying process.

Protecting Our Customers

Our verification procedures are designed to:

  • Reduce the risk of fraud and identity theft
  • Prevent counterfeit or stolen watches entering the market
  • Verify ownership and provenance
  • Promote secure and transparent transactions
  • Protect both buyers and sellers
  • Maintain the highest standards within the luxury watch industry

By applying the same standards to every transaction, we are able to provide a safer and more trusted experience for our customers.

Our Commitment

At Oakbury Watches, trust is at the heart of everything we do.

We believe transparency creates confidence, and confidence creates lasting relationships.

That is why every customer is verified, every watch is checked, and every transaction is reviewed.

It is all part of our commitment to delivering a secure, professional and trusted luxury watch experience.
