Effective date: September 2025
In these Terms and Conditions, the term “Oakbury” refers to the legal entity Oakbury Watch Co Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 16408926 and registered office at 39 High Street, Orpington, England, BR6 0JE.
The terms “you” and “your” refer to any individual or business purchasing goods or services from Oakbury, or otherwise engaging with Oakbury in the course of its business. The term “Goods” refers to any watches, accessories, or related products offered or supplied by Oakbury. The “Contract” refers to any agreement formed between Oakbury and you for the purchase of such Goods or services, which is governed by these Terms and Conditions.
This service is for people aged 18 or over. The watch must be your own property and sold in your name - not stolen, lost, or under any finance arrangement.
By submitting your watch for sale or valuation, you confirm and warrant that:
Following submission of the watch details, Oakbury will carry out a full inspection of the watch, which may include opening the case, examining the movement, verifying the condition, and assessing the authenticity and completeness of any accompanying items.
If, upon inspection, the watch is found to differ materially from the description you provided, Oakbury reserves the right to revise the offer accordingly. In cases where the discrepancies are significant, or where the watch fails to meet our required standards of authenticity, condition, or legal ownership, we reserve the right to revoke the offer entirely and decline to proceed with the purchase.
In such instances, the watch will be made available for collection, or returned to you at your cost, using appropriate insured delivery.
All offers made by Oakbury will be stated in Pounds Sterling (GBP). Upon acceptance of our post‑inspection offer, the agreed price will be fixed for a limited period, the duration of which will be specified in the offer documentation.
Payment will be made to the bank account nominated by you, or by another method as mutually agreed in writing. It is your responsibility to ensure that all account and payment information provided is complete and accurate. Oakbury will not be liable for delays or losses resulting from incorrect or incomplete payment details.
We aim to issue payment within 3 working days of your acceptance of the offer. However, in certain circumstances - such as when additional identity, ownership, or anti‑fraud checks are required - timeframe may be extended.
You may deliver your watch in person at one of our showrooms (with your receipt), or send it via a reputable courier.
If sending by courier:
The watch remains your responsibility until it is physically received and inspected by Oakbury, whether delivered in person or via courier. Oakbury accepts no liability for loss or damage in transit. Ownership of the watch transfers to Oakbury only once full payment has been issued in accordance with the agreed offer.
If, at any stage, Oakbury determines that the watch is lost, stolen, counterfeit, subject to an active insurance claim, under finance, or otherwise in breach of the representations and warranties you have made, we reserve the right to take one or more of the following actions without liability:
If payment has already been made and we subsequently discover that the watch falls within any of the above categories or otherwise fails to meet the conditions set out in these Terms, you agree to return all sums paid to you by Oakbury within 7 days of written demand. In such cases, Oakbury may treat title to the watch as never having legally transferred.
Oakbury shall not be held liable for any delays, losses, or failures arising from courier services, postal systems, or third-party service providers that are beyond our reasonable control.
If you believe there has been an error in the valuation, payment amount, or any other aspect of the transaction, you must notify us promptly so that we may investigate and, if necessary, rectify the issue.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms that cannot be resolved amicably shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Oakbury reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any amendments will be published on our website and shall apply to all future transactions from the date of publication. It is your responsibility to review the Terms periodically.
We may, at our discretion or as required by law, request additional documentation or information from you to comply with legal, regulatory, or anti‑fraud obligations. Failure to provide such information may result in the suspension or cancellation of the transaction.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable by a court or competent authority, that provision shall be deemed severed from the remaining Terms, which shall continue in full force and effect.
