1. Terms & Conditions of Sale

Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) carefully before using this website or placing an order. These Terms, together with any other documents expressly referred to herein (including our Privacy Policy, Returns Policy, and Warranty Terms), govern your access to and use of the website operated by Oakbury Watch Co Ltd (“Oakbury”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16408926, with its registered office at 39 High Street, Orpington, England, BR6 0JE.

These Terms also apply to all contracts for the purchase of goods made through this website by you (“you” or “your”).

By accessing or using our website, or by placing an order, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use this website or proceed with any order.

These Terms include, but are not limited to, the following sections: Definitions, Ordering & Acceptance, Pricing, VAT & Payment, Delivery & Title, Returns & Cancellations, Warranty, Intellectual Property, Website Use, Promotions, Privacy & Cookies, and Governing Law.

2. Warranty Terms

Where applicable, your watch will include the remainder of the original manufacturer’s warranty, which is transferrable and remains valid from the original date of purchase, provided it has not expired. Full details of the manufacturer’s warranty, including coverage and exclusions, can usually be found in the warranty booklet or on the brand’s official website.

In addition, where the manufacturer’s warranty has expired at the time of sale, Oakbury will provide a 12-month warranty from the date of purchase. This Oakbury warranty is non-transferrable and applies only to the original purchaser.

The Oakbury warranty covers manufacturing defects relating to the movement, hands, dial, crown, case integrity, and water resistance (where specified). It does not cover damage resulting from normal wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse, neglect, or any servicing or modifications carried out by a third party not authorised by Oakbury.

To make a warranty claim, proof of purchase is required. Please contact us directly to initiate the claims process. Oakbury reserves the right to inspect the watch and determine the eligibility of the claim under the terms of the applicable warranty.

The Oakbury warranty will be rendered void in the following circumstances:

  • If the watch has been serviced, repaired, opened, or modified by any party other than Oakbury or an authorised service provider approved by Oakbury.
  • If damage arises from misuse, accidental impact, negligence, improper handling, or failure to follow the manufacturer’s care guidelines.
  • If the watch has been exposed to water or other substances beyond its rated resistance, or if water damage occurs and the watch was not designed or rated for such use.
  • If any component of the watch (including case, dial, movement, or bracelet) has been tampered with, altered, or replaced without authorisation.
  • If a valid proof of purchase from Oakbury is not provided when making a claim.

In any of these cases, Oakbury reserves the right to refuse warranty service and will notify the customer of the grounds for rejection.

We aim to acknowledge all complaints within two working days and to provide a resolution within 7 to 10 working days. If a complaint cannot be resolved internally, we may refer the matter to an appropriate alternative dispute resolution (ADR) process.

18. Faulty Goods

If you receive an item that is faulty or not as described, you are entitled to a full refund, including any standard delivery charges, provided you notify us within 30 calendar days of receiving the item.

To qualify, the item must be returned in the exact condition in which it was supplied, including all original packaging, links, tags, documentation, and accessories, and must not have been worn, used, or altered in any way.

We do not accept returns for faults or damage resulting from misuse, accidental damage, tampering, unauthorised repairs, or general wear and tear. Items that are personalised, engraved, custom-made, or special orders (i.e. sourced specifically for you) are non-returnable unless found to be faulty or incorrectly supplied.

To initiate a return, please contact us with details of the issue and include your delivery note. Let us know whether you would prefer a refund or a replacement, subject to availability.

All items are thoroughly inspected, photographed, and weighed by two members of our team prior to dispatch. The entire packing and handover process is recorded on CCTV to confirm item condition and contents. This includes verification of any additional links, documents, boxes, or certificates. This process ensures traceability and protects both parties in the event of a dispute.

If you believe there is an issue with your order, please contact us promptly. We are committed to resolving genuine concerns quickly, fairly, and in line with your legal rights.

19. Concierge Service

Oakbury offers a bespoke concierge service for select clients, subject to availability and by prior request. This service may include private appointments, personal delivery, sourcing of specific models, or tailored consultations. Access to the concierge service is not guaranteed and is assessed on a case-by-case basis.

To enquire about or request concierge support, please contact us directly for further details, availability, and any applicable terms.

20. Sourcing Service

Oakbury provides a sourcing service for clients seeking a specific timepiece. The process begins with an initial expression of interest, during which the client’s requirements (including model, year, condition, and any other material criteria) will be confirmed.

Once a sourcing deposit has been received, Oakbury will commence the search and provide regular updates to ensure transparency and trust between both parties. Upon locating a suitable watch, Oakbury will verify that it matches the agreed criteria and will supply the client with photographs, videos, and/or a written description for approval.

Once the client confirms acceptance of the sourced watch, the remaining balance of the purchase price becomes due in full prior to delivery or collection. Delivery and collection options include secure courier delivery, hand delivery via Oakbury’s concierge service, or in-person collection at an agreed location.

Risk and title in the watch shall not pass to the client until the purchase price has been received by Oakbury in full and in cleared funds.

21. Payment Policy

At Oakbury, we offer secure and flexible payment options to accommodate both private and trade customers. Payments may be made in-store, online, or via secure digital invoice using trusted platforms.

Accepted Payment Methods

We currently accept the following payment methods:

Via Stripe
  • Credit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
  • Debit Cards
  • Apple Pay / Google Pay (where supported)
Via Crezco
  • Bank Transfers using Open Banking (available for UK-based bank accounts)

Transaction Charges

We do not charge any fees for payments made by debit card or bank transfer.

An admin fee may apply for payments made by credit card. If applicable, this fee will be clearly disclosed prior to payment.

To avoid such charges, we encourage payment by bank transfer, which is fast, secure, and fee-free.

Payment Terms

All prices are stated in Pounds Sterling (GBP). Full payment is required at the time of purchase unless otherwise agreed in writing. For high-value or special-order items, deposit arrangements may be available on request.

Oakbury does not store or have access to your full card or banking details. All payment information is handled securely by our authorised payment partners.

Sourcing

A non-refundable deposit is required to initiate the sourcing process. The amount of the deposit will be confirmed in writing with the client and is based on the estimated value of the timepiece requested.

The deposit will be deducted from the final purchase price where the transaction completes. All sourcing deposits are strictly non-refundable under any circumstances, including where the client cancels the request, declines the sourced watch, or fails to proceed with the purchase. By paying the deposit, the client acknowledges and accepts the non-refundable nature of the payment.

Failed or Declined Payments

If a payment is declined or fails to process, your order will not be confirmed or fulfilled until payment has been successfully completed. In such cases, we may contact you to resolve the issue and, where appropriate, offer an alternative method of payment.

22. Ethical & Sustainability Statement

Oakbury Watch Co Ltd is committed to responsible sourcing, recyclable packaging, and ethical supplier conduct. We continue to evaluate and improve our environmental impact.

23. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales unless otherwise required by law.

B. Repair & Servicing Terms & Conditions

All costs and timelines for bespoke design, repair, or servicing work are provided as estimates only. Upon receiving your item, Oakbury will carry out an initial inspection. If, during servicing, we identify additional issues or required replacement parts not included in the original estimate, we will contact you with a revised quotation before proceeding. Initial guidance is given upfront, but further needs may only become apparent once the watch is opened and assessed.

To proceed with any confirmed repair work, a minimum upfront payment of 50% of the estimated total is required. This payment is non-refundable once work has commenced or materials have been specially ordered.

Items left with Oakbury for design, repair, or servicing will only be released upon presentation of the original receipt or collection reference issued at the time of drop-off. This is to ensure the secure and accurate return of all customer property.

Servicing may include movement inspection, lubrication, pressure testing, and ultrasonic cleaning. Battery replacement, water resistance testing, and polishing are available as optional extras, subject to availability. Please contact us for a full service menu and pricing.

Turnaround times vary depending on the scope of work and parts availability but typically range between 2 to 4 weeks.

All completed service work is covered by a 12-month warranty. This warranty will be void if you decline to proceed with any work or parts we have specifically recommended as necessary for the proper function or preservation of your timepiece.

Items not collected within 60 days of notification of completion may be subject to storage fees. If an item remains uncollected after 180 days and all reasonable attempts to contact you have failed, Oakbury reserves the right to dispose of or sell the item to recover costs, in accordance with applicable law.

C. Returns Policy

If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we offer a flexible returns policy, subject to the terms below.

For online and distance purchases made by consumers, you have the right to return your item within 14 calendar days of delivery for a full refund, provided the item is returned in its original, unworn, and unaltered condition, with all original packaging, accessories, and paperwork included. Personalised, special-order, or used items are not eligible for return unless they are faulty or incorrectly supplied.

To be eligible, the item must be received by us within 14 calendar days of the delivery date. Notifying us of your intention to return is not sufficient on its own - the item must arrive within this period to qualify for a refund.

Returned items must be sent via a reputable, insured, and tracked courier, with adequate packaging to ensure safe transit. The customer is responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is faulty or incorrectly supplied. Oakbury accepts no responsibility for loss or damage in transit and reserves the right to reject returns that arrive late, damaged, or incomplete.

To qualify for a return, the watch must be in the exact condition in which it was supplied. It must not have been worn, used, handled excessively, or altered in any way. This includes, but is not limited to, removal of protective stickers or swing tags, adjustment of bracelet links, setting of time or date functions, or any visible signs of wear such as scratches, marks, strap creases, or other blemishes.

All returned items are subject to a detailed inspection upon receipt to verify their condition and completeness. If the item shows any signs of wear, tampering, damage, missing components, or handling beyond what is reasonably necessary to assess it (as would be permitted in a retail showroom), Oakbury reserves the right to reject the return or apply a reasonable deduction from the refund amount, in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws.

Refunds will only be issued once the inspection is complete and the item has been confirmed to meet our return eligibility criteria. Refunds will be processed to the original payment method. If this is not possible (e.g. the original method has expired), we will contact you to arrange an alternative.

Refund times may vary depending on the method used: Crezco payments typically appear within 1–3 business days, while Stripe (card) refunds may take 5–10 business days, depending on your card issuer.

If you request an exchange and stock is available, we will arrange this promptly. If no suitable alternative is available, a full refund will be issued instead.

Faulty or incorrectly supplied items will be replaced or refunded at no cost to you, in line with your statutory rights.

Faulty Items

If a product purchased from Oakbury is found to be faulty or not as described, you may be entitled to a remedy under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, depending on when the issue is reported.

If reported within 30 calendar days of delivery, you are entitled to request a full refund, provided the item is returned in the same condition as supplied.

For faults reported between 30 days and 6 months, we will inspect the item and may offer a repair or replacement. If this is not possible or does not resolve the issue, a refund may be offered, subject to reasonable deductions for use where permitted.

For faults reported after 6 months, you must provide evidence that the issue was present at the time of delivery. If accepted, a repair, replacement, or partial refund may be offered, with deductions applied for wear or use.

Faults caused by misuse, accidental damage, unauthorised repairs, or general wear and tear are not covered. Issues arising from improper handling or external servicing may also void your right to a remedy.
